The 48 Hour Film Challenge is something that my team and I look forward to every year. It is an amazing weekend of fun, creativity and exhaustion as we only have 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a short film. The only thing we can do in advance is prepare our cast and crew roster. After the kickoff event which gives us our required genre, character, prop, line and location (depending on who is hosting) it is time to write. My co writers and I typically spend the entire first evening just writing the script! The next morning, it's time to make any last adjustments to the script before we spend the whole day shooting the film. The day consists of a lot of problem solving and last minute decisions which makes for a huge learning experience every time! After an average of 10-15 hours on set, we edit and prepare to submit the film while frantically brainstorming a title. When we're done, we always celebrate and reflect on our amazing accomplishment... Right after we take a nap of course!
